Should we consider ‘Partition of Bharat’ as an ‘Established Truth’ ?

Partition of Bharat is not an established truth. So why should it be regarded as an ‘Established Truth’?
Just as prior to independence, realization of independence was the primary inspiration for every patriot, post independence the dream of ‘Akhand Bharat’ should have been the main inspiration for each & every patriot and they should have been in continuous action to realize this dream.

But it is extremely unfortunate that except a few individuals, people in general do not even think about ‘Akhand Bharat’ today. The reason for this is that the partition of Bharat has been accepted as an ‘established truth’. People do say the that partition was absolutely wrong, it should not have happened but wonder what can be done about it now? Partition is a reality but is it realistically possible that it can be undone now? It is due to this that people do not even think about partition and ‘Akhand Bharat’. Hence it is absolutely important that the thought of this being an ‘established truth’ be removed from the minds on our people. Come, let us consider few instances from our history that seemed as ‘established truths’.

Thousands of years ago the Jews had to migrate out of their homeland Israel. If this were to be seen in a certain point of view, it seemed to be an ‘established truth’. But the profound determination of the Jews changed this ‘established truth’ and today they live in their homeland.

Germany was partitioned after the second world war. The favour with which it was accomplished, it seemed that this partition would be for eternity. But today Germany is united as earlier.
Just a few years earlier the USSR was one of the two world powers. Today it has been fragmented into various countries and has secured the status as ‘former’ USSR!

Prior to 1970,none ever imagined the existence of Bangladesh. But in 1971 it became a reality.
Several years prior to the partition of Bharat, it seemed as if it never would happen for real. It was due to this that Jawaharlal Nehru had termed the demand for partition as ‘fantastic nonsense’ and had derided those demanding partition by saying, “Those who talk of partition live in fools paradise”. But the partition of Bharat indeed happened in 1947.

History is replete with many such instances that seem to be impossible. So why should the partition of Bharat be regarded as an ‘established truth’? With determination and through constant efforts this can certainly be reversed. This thought to be the thinking of each resident of Bharat.

Patel and his Reminiscence

Out of many issues, Kashmir issue was one which remained unresolved even after death of Sardar Patel. It was felt, if he was given free hand to resolve the Kashmir dispute, he would have resolved that as effectively as he resolved Hyderabad annexation problem. Sardar Patel had himself mentioned this to Mr. H. V. Kamath "Had Javahar Lal Nehru and Gopalswamy Iyenger not interfered in Kashmir Dispute, I would have resolved it the same way I resolved the Huderabad Issue".

It must be noted that Mr. Nehru was not at all in favor of Army intervention in Hyderabad. He suggested that it will destabilize the region and wanted the army intervention to end immediately. Well known Congress stalwart leader Prof. N. G. Ranga believed that the delayed action in Hyderabad was caused by Nehru, Maulana Azad and Lord Louis Mountbatten. He recounts that Sardar Patel felt that, had he taken Nehru's suggestions in consideration, Hyderabad issue would have never been resolved. Similar suggestions were given by Maulana Azad and Mountbatten.

Dr. Rajendra Prasad writes in 1959 "Today India is being discussed around the glove because of Sardar Patel's visionary leadership and will power." He adds "Even now we are not giving his due credit". Sartar Patel kept the situation in control even when India was facing such turbulent situation. How did he keep grip on such situation? its something we can learn from his life story...

Chakravarti Rajgopalachari writes this after 25 years of choosing of first Prime Minister of India 'It would have been undoubtly better if Sardar Patel would have been our PM and Nehru our Foreign minister. Had Sardar been alive for few more years, he would have definitely reached the Prime Minster post, something which he deserved. We would not have faced Kashmir, Tibbat, China and various outer issues we face today.'

Its a pity that politicians ignored his legacy after his death and did not give him credit which he deserved.

Is Arvind Kejriwal copying BJP?

Of late, the Aam Aadmi Party leader has become much of a darling for the media. Apparently he has come up with a number of innovative campaigning tactics. However, once you scratch beneath the surface, you realize that the Aam Aadmi Party hasn’t exactly started anything innovative but seems to be learning some old tricks from the experienced ones, the BJP in particular.

Here’s a list of issues and tactics generally being peddled as AAP’s trademarks but were in fact taken up first by the BJP first:

1.      Bijli Andolan: In 2003, Vijay Goel, when he was a Minister in the NDA, was the first one to tell off the Sheila Dikshit Government to stop complaining about power outages. In 2010, the BJP again started an agitation against Sheila Dikshit for hike in electricity prices. The same issues were taken up by Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal in 2013. Unfortunately, the people of Delhi have conveniently bought the lie that the BJP hasn’t done anything on the issue of electricity, which is a complete lie peddled by the Aam Aadmi Party. (Reference)

2.      Manifesto Campaign: As early as 2008, when the BJP was forming the committee to develop the manifesto for the city, Delhi’ites were encouraged to give their suggestions to the BJP office at the time. Now that the times have changed, internet is being used to take suggestions from the people. What the AAP is wishing for is already a reality in case of the BJP. (Reference)

3.      Campaigning during morning walks: Once again, it was Vijay Goel who back in 2009 made an effort to engage with voters in person during morning walks. Quoting a newspaper article published in Times of India. (Reference)

BJP's candidate from New Delhi is trying to jog his way to the voters' hearts. Vijay Goel a former Union minister during the NDA rule and now the party choice against Ajay Maken of the Congress has adopted a new way of campaigning. To get an opportunity to interact with the elite electorate and area residents who take early morning walks, Goel is regularly going jogging in the parks of the New Delhi constituency.”

4.      Janata Adalats: It was the BJP’s Vijay Goel who started holding Jan Adalats in his Chandni Chownk Constituency. The same concept was the inspiration behind Aam Aadmi Party’s Mohalla Sabhas. The Jan Adalats are still held by the BJP all over the city. (Reference)

5.      Electoral Issues: Vijay Goel raised the VAT issue in support of traders back in the year 2005. To this date, the BJP keeps putting forth VAT concerns by raising the issue in public, time and again. Now Kejriwal has also spoken about it.  (Reference) He has said he will demand a fair deal for vendors and hawkers but the same has been raised by the BJP for a long time now. (Reference)

AAP’s ‘Call Delhi’ campaign too is copied from the much popular Obama campaign (Reference). Though there may be couple of things that have been tried with certain modifications, it will be naive to believe the campaign is highly innovative and something that has never done before.

The problem is that since certain Aam Aadmis have recently entered into political arena, they think whatever they do hasn’t been tried ever in the history of Indian Politics. I will rather ask them to study about election campaigns in details. If they are so bent on claiming to execute a creative campaign, didn’t they notice that AAP’s banal android app is a mindless copy of Modi’s mobile application, or AAP caps being copied from those worn in RSS since its inception? Did no party ever use public transport for election campaigning? It’s time people come out of delusions and embrace the facts.
